Civilized societies are able to mobilize and take action in a crisis.  What can animals do to influence us to minimize the impact we have on our cooperative world?  In this painting, the idyllic existence of these animals is directly threatened by the burning taking place on the horizon. Where can they go?  Who can they ask for help?
